Client Focus: ORS supports goPuff to expand its customer base

Ohio River South is the registered lobbyist in metro Atlanta for goPuff, a global e-commerce company providing customers door-to-door delivery of convenience store items within 30 minutes or less through the use of its app. Well versed in emerging technology and e-commerce sectors, we provide lobbying, civic engagement, and partnership development to strengthen goPuff’s business-to-government relations and build a positive brand identity within the community.

By the numbers: Headquartered in Philadelphia, Penn., the company was founded in 2013 and now operates in more than 650 American cities with 500 micro fulfillment centers – including 10 in metro Atlanta – and an annual revenue of $1B.

ORS has significantly contributed to goPuff’s local expansion, especially the procuring of business licenses, expediting variances and permits, and advocating for legislation to expand sales. The team at ORS prides itself, however, on delivering more than what the client may ask for – in this case, helping the company build positive relationships with municipal officials, county commissioners, chambers of commerce, and other key stake holders through supporting local community efforts.

During the pandemic, for instance, ORS counseled goPuff to partner with Atlanta Public Schools to donate essential items and supplies for students in their take home meal kits that APS gave out. ORS also facilitated a partnership with the City of Clarkston and WorkSource DeKalb to provide refreshments at a job fair, and the same for vaccine technicians and volunteers at an Emory COVID vaccination clinic.
