ORS hosts reception to honor Marc Spears at NABJ convention

The National Association of Black Journalists recently held its annual Convention and Career Fair in Birmingham.

Ohio River South once again used our power to convene and hosted a welcome reception for 300+ journalists and media professionals at The Southern Kitchen & Bar rooftop downtown.

The highlight of the evening was the opportunity for us all to celebrate Marc Spears, an esteemed journalist and 2023 NBA Hall of Fame inductee.

NABJ is the premier organization for connecting journalists of color and ensuring they have the training they need to compete in a global market.

ORS is honored to have hosted NABJ members in the Magic City, and at the same time celebrate Marc.

Thank you to our co-host Jesse Washington, author, journalist, and DJ extraordinaire, and longtime friend for coming up with this great event idea and inviting ORS to be a part. And thanks to Courtney French Broadcasting and Chris Coleman for everything they did to make the night unforgettable.
