ORS Intern Atiyah Kennedy Invited As a Panelist for the 100 Black Men’s State of the 100

In June 2021, ORS intern Atiyah Kennedy was invited to serve as a panelist for the 100 Black Men of America’s State of the 100: A Conversation on the Future Vision of the 100. The 100 is recognized as the nation’s top African American led mentoring organization. Its primary focus includes improving the quality of life within Black communities and enhancing educational and economic opportunities nationwide. Thomas W. Dortch, Jr., Chairman of 100 Black Men moderated the panel.

In recent years, 100 Black Men has expanded its reach to include women and young adults by chartering Collegiate 100 chapters all over the nation. As the Vice President of the Georgia State University chapter, Atiyah spoke from the perspective of a college-aged Black woman on issues such as mental health, economic disparities, and the future of the organization as a whole. As a student of GSU, one of the most ethnically and economically diverse universities in the nation, Atiyah was able to bring a more dynamic view to the table.

“I am honored to be able to share my passions for mentorship, education, and equity and be a voice for young adults and college students nationwide,” says Atiyah. “The platform that 100 Black Men has given me amplifies that honor in ways I couldn’t have imagined.”

Congratulations to Atiyah for being recognized for her leadership by this prestigious group.
